Sea Bound explores how architecture can emerge directly from its surrounding environment through regenerative materials and simple construction methods. Designed as a temporary coastal intervention, the pavilion combines rammed earth, timber, seaweed, and stone.

MATERIAL AS ARCHITECTURE

Stone foundation, rammed earth base, timber frame, translucent seaweed wall, and natural seaweed roof form a limited palette of natural materials. Together, these systems minimize embodied carbon while allowing individual components to be repaired, replaced, reused, or naturally biodegrade.

A QUIET COASTAL ROOM

The pavilion creates a protected gathering space while maintaining a direct relationship with the surrounding coastline. Light filters through the translucent seaweed enclosure, while rammed earth and timber introduce weight, texture, warmth, and a changing material character over time.
